As a trend following trader at heart, I have always been on the lookout for new ways to improve my trading strategies. In 2012, I came across a post about the All-Weather Portfolio, which introduced me to the concept of balancing a portfolio across different economic regimes. This sparked my interest in global macro trading fundamentals with technical trend following and inspired me to develop my own strategies. However, I left trading for a period of time to pursue other interests such as travel and starting a family. In 2019, I returned to the market and rediscovered the fundamental All-Weather Portfolio concept and decided to incorporate it into my trading strategies. By utilizing the principles of balancing a portfolio across different economic regimes, I am now able to create a more stable and diversified portfolio, combining my passion for trend following with a more comprehensive approach to understanding the market.
I began by creating the DIMS (Debt Industry Market Segment), a system that utilizes a combination of trend following and global macro strategies that are specifically focused on getting better insight into when trend shift and the beginning of trends. This is particularly useful in the debt industry as it allows me to identify key changes in market conditions and make informed trading decisions. I also developed the Global Macro Tracker, a tool that helps me identify and track global macro trends and the Global Macro Play Sheet, a resource that I use to plan and execute trades based on these trends.
As I continued to explore global macro trading, I realized the importance of a comprehensive approach to understanding the market. I came up with the Amarii Ratings, a system that takes into account multiple factors such as economic indicators, geopolitical events, and market sentiment to provide a more holistic view of the market.
Overall, my journey as a trend following trader has been enhanced by my discovery of the All-Weather Portfolio, which has helped me develop a more diverse and comprehensive approach to global macro trading by creating DIMS, Global Macro Tracker, Global Macro Play Sheet and Amarii Ratings, all of which are specifically focused on getting better insight into when trend shift and the beginning of trends in the debt industry.
